Recent Plymouth extension completed for kitchen and sunroom
At this time of year, some people really know how to make the most of the weather!
Here at Edwards Adams Ltd, we were approached by a young family in Plymouth looking to add a sunroom to the back of their property. With the British summer being so unpredictable, a sunroom is the perfect way to catch the sun when it’s hot and stay dry when the inevitable rain follows.
The job started out as a simple 4m x 4m extension, but with the weather being so beautiful, this ambitious young family started to get creative! This small project soon evolved into a sunroom and larger kitchen with a stunning vaulted ceiling. From there, we were able to give the kitchen a whole new refurbishment, knocking through into the utility.

When working in anyone’s home we always try to cause as little disruption as possible and this is especially important when there are young children in the home. We always try to be as flexible and discreet as we can.
A building site can be a dangerous place for kids. That can be tricky when that site is your own home! By keeping the family informed of what we were doing and working around their schedule wherever possible, we were able to create a safe environment for the family throughout the process.
In fact, our team became part of the family! As the work progressed, our workmen got to know the whole family and it was always a highlight of their day to hear about the what the children had been up to at school. We love the fact that our team are so easy to speak to and approach that our customers put their total faith and confidence in them.
With the summer in full swing, we were also then asked to create a new area of decking and a patio. With the current heatwave, a comfortable and stylish outdoor space was so important to this family and we were happy to help.
We were thrilled to be able to create such wonderful spaces for this charming young family, that we’re sure they’ll be able to enjoy all year round. Maybe they’ll even ask us round for a cup of tea!
