So you remember back in March we had just started work on a total wreck of a house in Lipson, Plymouth? Well we’re well and truly into it now!
The house itself is a Victorian end of terrace and had been left untouched for between 30 and 40 years. Think as bad as you could possibly imagine and it might give you an idea of the task (and smells) we were faced with!
Back in March we’d really got stuck in and ripped everything out. Old, rotten woodwork, kitchens, bathrooms, ceilings, staircases, literally anything that was past renovation.
As we said before the garden was hiding a few more surprises – once we’d cut it back its huge size became apparent, as well as various sheds, fences and scattered garden furniture.
I think we possibly spent the first few weeks disposing of the vast amount of rubbish!
Anyway… things are now making progress.
We’ve dug further back in the basement so have had to support the floor above. We’ve also opened up the space at the front where there is going to be a single storey extension built under permitted development rights to provide a big kitchen/family room with glass atrium.
As you can see things have changed a lot in the basement kitchen!

The end result will be a million miles away from the sorry state this poor house was in when we got our hands on it.
Keep looking for regular updates on this renovation. There should be quite a few!
